Knowing how to remember dreams is a skill worth learning if you really crave for meaning of dreams. It can be very frustrating trying to recall a dream you had – whether good or bad.

Secondly, the content of the dream could be a good determining factor.

Thirdly, the lack of REM sleep impedes our ability to remember sleep.

Actually, not getting enough REM or REM sleep deprivation comes about due to poor health conditions.

The brain’s ability to transfer short-term memory in the motor cortex to the temporal lobe to turn to long-term memory is also impeded.

Don’t be quick to wake up


Robert Stickgold of Harvard Medical School explains that our morning routines cause our dreams to fade away.

The trick is to stay still while the eyes are still closed.

By staying in the same body position, try to remember a dream the dream you had. It might just be lingering on your mind. More often than not, you surely will.

Scan for dreams

When you wake up, try scanning your brain to see if a dream comes up. Look at things around you to try and establish a connection. Sometimes, a sound, image or a story can hit a chord to create a spontaneous recovery of the dream.
